1. Platform Role & Liability

peta.lk is a classified ads and local shops discovery platform that connects buyers and sellers in Sri Lanka. peta.lk acts solely as an intermediary and is not a party to any transaction, agreement, or contract made between a buyer and a shop owner.

peta.lk is not responsible for:

  • The quality, safety, legality, or availability of any product or service listed on the platform.
  • Disputes, losses, damages, or misunderstandings that arise between buyers and shop owners.
  • Failure of a shop owner to fulfil an order or honour a stated price.
  • Any financial loss resulting from transactions conducted through or arranged via peta.lk.

2. Recommended Payment & Delivery Methods

To protect yourself as a buyer, peta.lk strongly recommends the following methods when completing a purchase:

🏪 Store Pickup — Collect your item directly from the shop. You can inspect the product before handing over any payment. This is the safest option.
📦 Cash on Delivery (COD) — Pay only when the item is delivered to your door. Do not pay in advance unless you have independently verified and trust the seller.

⚠️ Be cautious of sellers requesting advance bank transfers. peta.lk cannot guarantee or recover funds lost through bank transfer fraud.

3. User Obligations

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use peta.lk or have permission from a parent or guardian.
  • You agree not to post fraudulent, misleading, or illegal listings.
  • You are solely responsible for the accuracy of information you submit.
  • You must not use the platform to harass, deceive, or harm other users.

4. Shop Owner Obligations

  • Shop owners are responsible for the accuracy of product descriptions, prices, and stock availability.
  • Shop owners must fulfil confirmed orders in a timely and honest manner.
  • peta.lk reserves the right to suspend or remove any shop that receives consistent complaints or violates these terms.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and branding on peta.lk is the property of 1xtec and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without written permission.

6. Changes to These Terms

peta.lk reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.
